About Clifford Barrera

My childhood summers were spent knee-deep in my grandfather’s garden, where he’d let me dig up clods of dirt to find the ‘treasures’—earthworms, pebbles, and sometimes, if I was lucky, a tiny sprout pushing through the soil.

That garden taught me patience, how to read the land, and that the best things grow when you tend them with care. Here, I share the lessons I’ve learned from decades of planting, pruning, and sometimes failing spectacularly—because even the most seasoned gardeners still have to start somewhere.
